about us

Hi

All the marketing advice says we need to write this section so I will leave this here in case you want to read it! The only bit you really need to know is that we love having Kestrel Cottage, we genuinely enjoy helping to make peoples holidays truly memorable and we work really hard at it. We live in the attached farmhouse next door so if you want us we're here but if you don't that's fine too, there is plenty of space outside for everyone.

So, we are an English family and we moved here from London in 2007 in search of adventure and a life in the countryside. We are very pleased we did! Daniel is my husband and he turned a hobby into a job and is a gardener here in Normandy, he wears shorts all year round and we refer to him as the technical department because when something needs fixing it is to him that we turn. I'm Angela, I worked as a Play Specialist in hospitals in the UK and when we moved here I used my training to create a Parent and Tots group, which lead to English activities, which has lead to a job in the local college and I'm loving it.

We have six children, although they aren't all at home anymore because our oldest kids are at Uni.  We love having a big family, there is always something going on and life is never dull. Altogether that's a lot of experience which all goes into Kestrel Cottage by creating the right atmosphere and right equipment for children to relax and have fun, while making things as easy as possible for the parents. Win win!

Another thing about us is the animals, I say 'us' but in reality it's me who wants the animals, Dan just goes along with it! The cats came first, he was ok with them. Then Dobby the Dog and it's impossible not to fall in love with him, he is a gentle giant and even people who are scared of dogs at the start of their holiday end up petting him after a few days. Then came chickens and ducks, ok, not so bad, we do live in the country after all and they lay eggs. It took a little more persuasion for the Gary the Goat but Dan was won over by  the little baby billy goat in need of a home! Then came Kevin the pig, he has been harder work but the source of many tales. I think he's great fun but Dan can often be heard muttering about bacon under his breath! They all live behind the cottage and I'm really happy to take people to visit with them.

So that's us! We'll be looking forward to welcoming you,
